St. James Parish Hospital is extremely excited to welcome a new Podiatry Clinic to its growing list of independent, specialty clinics. Dr. Darek Guichard, D.P.M., brings an impressive resume to the St. James Parish community and will begin seeing patients in December.
Dr. Guichard has been practicing podiatry in Metairie and Laplace for 24 years. He graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1975 with a B.S. in Pharmacy and then received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Iowa in 1989. He completed his residency at East Jefferson General Hospital. Dr. Guichard has been the Director of the Podiatric Medical Residency Program at East Jefferson General Hospital since 1997 and has served in the capacities of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Board Member for more than 15 years. Dr. Guichard provides general podiatric care and is Board-Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
Dr. Guichard specializes in general podiatric care, heel pain, ingrown nails, bunions, diabetic foot care, corn and callous care and surgical care. Dr. Guichard will see patients every Monday morning from 8:00am to 12:00pm in the Medical Plaza located next to St. James Parish Hospital. To schedule an appointment, call 985.651.6096.
