A Culture of Excellence
St. James Parish Hospital opened its doors as a service district hospital in 1955. In 2001, the hospital obtained critical access designation, creating greater flexibility in the delivery of essential health care services. In 2008, our hospital moved into a new, state-of-the-art facility expanding our capacity, improving technology and enhancing comfort for patients. Throughout the years, St. James Parish Hospital has been recognized for quality, patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction and financial stability.
A Cultural Center
St. James Parish is geographically centered between New Orleans and Baton Rouge with direct access to Interstate 10. The parish is split by the Mississippi River with approximately half of the population residing on either the east or west bank. St. James Parish itself is a lively, close-knit community that offers quality education, recreation and health care. Known for plantations and Perique tobacco, bonfires and the best Cajun food, St. James Parish is truly a great place to live, work, play and grow.
“We work toward our vision by creating a patient-centered environment that rewards strong work ethics, by continually evolving our services and technology to meet the needs of the community and by always recognizing the importance of strong partnerships with physicians and other healthcare providers.”
