« ReturnSt. James Parish Hospital’s Laboratory, the leading provider of diagnostic and drug testing in the Parish, is committed to helping you get all of your tests done quickly and close to home. Our clinical laboratory utilizes cutting-edge chemistry and hematology analyzers, both aimed at providing quicker results for our patients. Microbiology testing is now performed on-site, which generates faster results for your treating provider. Most test results are faxed to your physician’s office the day of your visit.
We accept orders from all physicians and we work with industries, businesses, and neighboring healthcare providers to offer our services at contract rates. We are continually committed to investing in technology and adding to our menu of services.
- Drug Screens (Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm)
- Therapeutic Drug Testing
- Urinalysis
- Complete Blood Count
- Chemistry Profile (to check heart, liver, and kidney function)
- Blood Bank Services
- Coagulation Testing (for patients on Coumadin Therapy)
- Serology Testing
- Microbiology (blood, urine, fluid, and wound cultures)
Outpatient hours are from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and from 8:00 am to noon on Saturday. The Laboratory Department is staffed 24/7 for emergency services.
Lab orders can be faxed to 225.258.5981 or brought to Hospital Registration. Results will be faxed to the ordering physician.
