Our Anesthesia Department is staffed with CRNA’s who work under the consultation of an Anesthesiologist. The Anesthesia Department provides for the administration of anesthesia and the monitoring of patients receiving anesthesia. In the event that Moderate Sedation is used in the absence of anesthesia personnel, the sedation is to be administered by the MD who is privileged through the credentialing process to do so. Also, an RN competent in post-anesthesia monitoring and able to dedicate all attention to the sedated patient must be available. Anesthesia services are provided, when consulted for sedation, intubation and central line access in other units of the hospital.
