St. James Parish Hospital is proud to announce the 2019 Employees of the 4th Quarter, Regina Wallace and Loni Bourgeois, RN. Both employees were nominated by fellow staff and chosen by the Executive Leadership Team for their dedication to the hospital.

Regina joined St. James Parish Hospital as an Environmental Services Tech in 2011. She is a graduate of Lutcher High School. She furthered her education at River Parishes Vo-tech where she graduated in 1979.

Regina was nominated by the Surgery Team for her pleasant, positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond—including returning to work on a day off to communicate a possible patient safety issue she encountered. The staff commented that Regina not only does her job with a smile—even on the most hectic days—but she also always shares important information to ensure their team is well-prepared to offer patients the highest quality and safest care.

When asked for comment, Regina stated, “I am so thankful to the St. James Parish Hospital Surgery Team for nominating me for this award.”

Loni has seven years of service at St. James Parish Hospital. She currently serves as a Registered Nurse. Loni graduated from Riverside Academy in 1998. She attended LSU School of Nursing and graduated in 2004. She has 15 years of nursing experience.

Loni was nominated by Andrea Walden, RN, Director of Case Management for her dedication to both patients and staff as a charge nurse on the hospital’s acute care unit. Andrea noted examples of Loni volunteering to come in to manage handoffs and ensure important information about patients was effectively shared.

Andrea stated, “Loni faces each new challenge with a positive and determined attitude. She is a great communicator and ensures physicians and staff are kept in the loop regarding any changes in patient needs.”

Loni commented, “I am honored to be recognized by my coworkers as an Employee of the Quarter.”

“We have such great teamwork in our organization, so picking up an extra shift to help out isn’t a hard decision to make.”

St. James Parish Hospital congratulates both employees for their dedication to the hospital’s mission of providing excellent, quality and compassionate healthcare.
