Occupational Therapist

St. James Parish Hospital is now hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide a full range of Physical Therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards.

The Occupational Therapist (OT) should also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem-solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible, interdisciplinary fashion.


  • Complete screening on patients as clinically necessary
  • Patient evaluation is completed following receipt of physician’s order, per policy and procedure
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary care plans and coordinate treatment with other disciplines
  • Provide age-appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Evaluate patient response to treatment and provide feedback to the rest of the team
  • Document the course of patient care including progress made and continuing need for treatment
  • Provide patient and family education on tasks and resources that will assist with continued functional independence




Current License to Practice
Background Check
Drug Test
Current BLS Certification
1-3 years experience working as an OT with patients in a related setting (preferred)

Education Required:

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program with a Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy
