Therapy for Athletes

When Sports Are More than Just a Hobby

St. James Parish Hospital’s Therapy Team combines extensive experience and a personalized, multidisciplinary approach to treat athletes from a variety of backgrounds. We recognize that athletes have specialized goals that require our team to remain up-to-date with the latest, evidence-based research and treatment plans. Therefore, our staff is continually expanding their education base and obtaining advanced certifications.

As the largest, most-experienced therapy provider in the River Parishes, we have great relationships with local orthopedic surgeons. From chronic overuse injuries to acute sprains, strains, tears and fractures, we are here to help athletes get stronger, faster and more competitive after injuries. Our staff is diligent and focused on evaluating and treating not just the injury, but all of the bodily systems that influence injury and the state of healing.

We treat the musculoskeletal imbalances and dysfunctional movement patterns that often contribute to the initial injury. We feel that this is essential for the quickest and most effective recovery,  to preventing re-injury and to enhancing the overall well-being of athletes.
