  • Diabetic Support Group Meeting

    EVENT DETAILS

    This free program is open to anyone who has diabetes or who has a family member with diabetes. This support group is designed for all diabetics, whether the condition was newly diagnosed or chronic. The hospital’s Diabetic Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month.

    Diabetic Support Group meetings are led by the hospital’s Dietitian. Professionals and clinicians from related fields are often invited to answer questions and discuss topics such as nutrition, wound care, medications, foot care and lifestyle. Meetings are open-ended to encourage discussion.

  • Healthcare Provider BLS CPR – Recertification

    This CPR Class is a recertification for healthcare-related participants that need to renew their CPR certification. If this is the first time you are taking the course OR if you need a skills check-off, email us at communityed@sjph.org.

    The Healthcare Provider CPR Recertification is for participants needing to renew their CPR certification. It is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages. This class is for participants who provide healthcare to patients in a wide variety of settings including both in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Cost is $60 per attendee. Student fee is $50, but the student must have proper identification. Payments can be made at the cashier desk in the hospital.

  • Heartsaver CPR / First Aid

    EVENT DETAILS

    The Heartsaver CPR Course is a course that teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies including cardiac arrest and choking for adult, child and infant victims. The First Aid Class teaches basic first aid procedures for medical emergencies and environmental emergencies.

    Cost is $40 per attendee for CPR and $50 for combined class. Payments can be made at the cashier desk in the hospital.

    ABOUT THE CARDIOLOGIST

    Dr. George Yousef, Cardiologist, received his medical degree from Ain Shams University in Egypt. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Marshall University in West Virginia.

    Dr. Yousef is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Echocardiography. He is also a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).

    Dr. Yousef is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and was elected as Fellow in Training Section Chair for the West Virginia American College of Cardiology.

    Dr. Yousef’s expertise is in cardiology, interventional cardiology, peripheral vascular interventions, valvular heart disease and cardiac arrhythmia.
