Speech & Language Therapy at St. James Parish Hospital

St. James Parish Hospital’s Speech-Language Therapists are licensed to assess and treat communication issues and language disorders. Our therapists create a comfortable, compassionate environment to form a relationship with patients while utilizing exercises, drills, demonstrations, and activities or “play” to help both children and adults with their individual challenges.

In addition to specialized treatments, St. James Parish Hospital’s Speech Therapy Team conducts Swallow Studies. Orders can be faxed to 225.869.7058.

Our Speech Therapists Treat:

Articulation Problems
Dyslexia/Dyspraxia
Fluency Problems
Stuttering/Lisps
Voice Problems (pitch, volume, etc.)
Oral Feeding Issues (eating, swallowing, drooling)
Trouble Understanding/Receiving Language
Trouble Using Language Appropriately

Speech Therapy Hours:

Inpatient Services are provided Monday through Saturday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Outpatient Speech Therapy Services are offered Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with extended hours from 7:00am to 7:00pm (by appointment). To schedule an appointment, call 225.258.5934.
