    Heartsaver CPR & First Aid

    RSVP Below – $75/Attendee (Heartsaver CPR-Only $60/Attendee) Registration must be completed 5 business days before class date. If you are trying to register within less than 5 days, contact our Education Department directly at 225.258.2009.

    The Heartsaver CPR/First Aid Course is a course that teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies including cardiac arrest and choking for adult, child and infant victims.

    The First Aid Class teaches basic first aid procedures for medical emergencies and environmental emergencies. This class is held in the Medical Plaza Community Education Room.

    The minimum age to attend this course is 14 and any student under 16 must be enrolled with a paid adult.

    Payments for classes are due on the day of the class and can be paid to the hospital cashier located in the main entrance of the hospital.

    Unless otherwise noted, all CPR and First Aid classes will be held in the Community Education Room at David Reynaud Medical Plaza which is located next to St. James Parish Hospital. The Meeting Room is in the Hospital.

    Participants taking the CPR portion of the class only may finish sooner than those taking the combined class.

    Community Blood Drive

    In partnership with The Blood Center, St. James Parish Hospital will be hosting a community blood drive from 11am to 4pm on Friday, October 7th. The drive will be held in the Community Education Room located in the medical plaza next to the hospital. Remember to eat a good meal and stay hydrated before and after your donation.

    Donors will have the choice of one of these options:

    • Halloween Socks
    • Pink Ribbon Socks
    • Family Blood Coverage
    • Heart Club

    Facebook LIVE at Lunch - Cancer Education

    Join us for a Facebook LIVE at Lunch (via the Facebook Event page) with Denise Louque, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Dr. Laura Chauvin, Oncologist, who will be joining our Facebook Community Live from a parish event to offer education on Prostate and Breast Cancer.

    11:30AM Denise Louque, St. James Parish Hospital Family Nurse Practitioner, will offer education on Prostate Cancer. Denise sees patients at St. James West Bank Clinic in Vacherie and at St. James Parish Hospital Family Practice Clinic in Lutcher.

    12:00 PM Dr. Laura Chauvin, Oncologist with Thibodaux Regional Health System, will offer education on Breast Cancer. Dr. Chauvin sees patients in Thibodaux and Lutcher in the Medical Plaza next to St. James Parish Hospital.
