St. James Parish Hospital Welcomes New Board Member

Roxanne Jackson Childs, MHA, ESQ, recently joined St. James Parish Hospital’s Board of Commissioners.

Roxanne Jackson Childs, MHA, ESQ, brings extensive administrative healthcare experience to the hospital’s board. As a healthcare executive with over two decades of experience, her breadth of expertise is broad and includes provider contracting and network development. Throughout her career, Ms. Childs has held leadership positions with national and regional healthcare organizations.

Ms. Childs earned a Bachelor of Science from Tulane University in Cellular and Molecular Biology. She earned a Masters of Health Administration from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She later attended Southern University Law Center where she earned her Juris Doctorate. Ms. Childs has also completed forty hours of mediation and conciliation training.

In addition to serving on St. James Parish Hospital’s Board, she is a member of the American Health Law Association and the New Orleans Bar Association. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

“I was raised in Lutcher, attended Chanel Interparochial School and St Charles Catholic High School and currently reside in Paulina,” said Ms. Childs.

“I am honored to now have the opportunity to serve our community in this capacity. My background, education and experience have prepared me to make meaningful contributions. I’m delighted to have been invited to join the board and look forward to working with the SJPH Board and Hospital Administration.”
