Today is a bittersweet day as we celebrate the retirement of Rachel Becnel, RN, Chief Administrative Officer and Community Champion. In her 29 years of service, Rachel has made a lasting impact on the lives of our team, patients and community.
Rachel has been an integral part of the team that has helped St. James Parish Hospital evolve to meet the needs of our community. Through the years she has helped implement 24/7 diagnostic services—including bringing MRI services in-house, helped expand our community education programs, helped recruit both primary care physicians and specialists, helped us establish health care services on the west bank, led the opening and expansion of the hospital’s urgent care and facilitated the building of our first Medical Plaza (which has since doubled in size).
Rachel’s professional accomplishments are plenty, but she will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion and positivity.
