Summer Worker

Description:

St. James Parish Hospital is now hiring a Summer Worker to assist our Maintenance Team with exterior maintenance, landscaping-related duties and maintenance support as requested by hospital departments.

Duties:

• Blow off sidewalks, sweep entrances and empty garbage cans at entrances daily
• Clean and service all equipment used in grounds maintenance as requested
• Plant and trim lawns, trees, bushes, hedges and shrubs using hand tools or motorized equipment
• Apply herbicide and pesticide chemicals to grounds, trees, bushes, shrubs and lawns in order to control plant diseases and insects
• Perform variety of exterior maintenance duties such as pressure washing, painting, plumbing and repair
• Assist Maintenance Tech and security as needed
• Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while working with equipment
• Keep work areas orderly, clean and safe
• Assure proper care in the use of tools, equipment and supplies
• Act in a way that fosters collaboration, teamwork, communication and mutual respect
• Develop and maintain good human-relation skills based on the hospital’s values and expectations
